Dear readers,
As we are well aware, the Czech Republic is a country with an open export economy and export support is, therefore, one of the priorities of the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MIT). Until 2019, exports had been gradually rising for almost ten years in a row, but the recent crisis, associated with the coronavirus pandemic, interrupted this period of growth.
At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, export support was aimed at solving the immediate problems of exporters. Afterwards, the main wave of Governmental support focused on quick restart and restoration of business trade relations in the selected territories. In order to preserve the production of the Czech Republic and maintain its position as an export-oriented country, a number of measures were taken, including free provision of selected CzechTrade services , preferential treatment and adjustment of Czech Export Bank (ČEB) and Export Guarantee and Insurance Corporation Products (EGAP), provision of interest-free loans by the National Development Bank, and support for new manufacturers of medical materials and protective equipment from the CzechInvest agency and MIT even during their export.
The MIT’s task was and still is to help exporters in finding new business opportunities and maintaining their position in the existing markets. That is why MIT agencies have been seeking business opportunities abroad for a long time. Subsequently, they compare them with the competencies of Czech companies and their innovation potential. Based on these facts, 43 territorial business strategies have been developed. These strategies have helped to improve the state assistance coordination, not only in the area of export support policies but also in the area of innovation and business development.
Czech Official Participation (ČOÚ) in exhibitions and fairs abroad is one of the significant tools for accomplishing business opportunities. Their program, available on the MIT website, is in accordance with the Export Strategy of the Czech Republic. The program is focused on the export of goods and services with high added value and facilitates the expansion of Czech companies (mainly small and medium-sized ones) into foreign markets. Approximately 28 ČOÚs are implemented annually, having around 5,000 business negotiations completed and preliminary contracts in progress, almost reaching 3-5 billion CZK. We have the same plans for the future.
I hope that the unpredictable coronavirus pandemic will enable exhibitions, fairs and meetings at them to run as smoothly as possible in the future. I wish their organizers much strength and success, and to the exhibitors and visitors, I wish interesting and inspiring contacts and meetings.

ALUCAST, s.r.o.
Alucast, s.r.o. is a leading European producer of precision aluminum and magnesium castings. We supply our products to the areas of aviation, defense, optics, electrical
industry, medical technology and many others. We have been a respected supplier for over 20 years. We produce castings from 1 piece (prototype) up to series of thousands of pieces, in dimensions up to 990x300x300 mm or 700x700x500 mm and a maximum of 20 kg. We also produce thin-walled, complex castings with high quality requirements, i.e. surface quality, mechanical properties, flawless internal structure (minimal porosity, etc.). We work in accordance with the AS 9100 standard, which also includes ISO 9001. We carry out RTG testing, crack testing (FPI), mechanical testing, heat treatment under NADCAP and more. If you have parts machined from solid material, castings, welded parts and other parts, we are happy to evaluate the possibilities of producing these parts as castings.

The company ČZ a.s. was established in 1919 and currently focuses on deliveries of parts for automotive industry. J. JINDRA is a specialized Forge supplying die forgings from copper and aluminium alloys. We can deliver custom-made forgings and machined parts, including surface treatments. Our know-how is based on a stable team of employees and state-of-the-art technical equipment from product design software to forging presses and machine tools. We focus on die forging according to the technical specification of the product and the customer‘s requirements, we design and manufacture the tools (dies) ourselves. We also provide machining on CNC machines, which is a guarantee of high-quality cutting without the need for further processing. In the machining workshop, we have a special CNC workplace for the production of components from rods.

Promet Group a.s. specializes mainly in metallurgy, mechanical engineering and enginee- ring. Our metallurgical solutions include material procurement, casting, forging, machining and assembly. We supply full raw materials portfolio for foundries and steelplants such as pig iron, ferroalloys, steel scrap, non-ferrous metals, inoculants, carburizers and refining agents. Our casting from gray and ductile iron cast are produced in modernised foundry on automatic and hand moulding lines in total yearly capacity of 6500 tons. Our automatic line can produce casting from 1 up to 90 kg, where our hand moulding line is able to produce the castings from 100 kg up to 5 tons per piece. Our melting capacities include two 3-ton and one 6-ton furnaces. Part of our metallurgy division is also a forging plant with total yearly capacity of 20 000 tons as well as newly modernised foundry with automatic lines producing up to 30 000 tons of castings per year. Our group owns machining facilities to finalise castings and weldment with 0,01 mm accuracy. By investing in ecology and modernisation, we also care for the environment. Our commitment and finished investments reduced emissions at our foundries by more than 90%.

Forging Association of the Czech Republic
Forging Association of the Czech Republic (SVAZ KOVÁREN ČR z. s. – abbreviation SKČR) brings together important Czech industrial forges, manufacturers of machines and equipment for hot metal forming, trade and service companies, research institutes and schools.
Currently (2024), our ssociation has 20 regular, 25 associate and 15 honorary members, employing approximately 6,000 workers and thus forming a very important link in the production chain between metallurgical primary production and engineering firms.
Engineering production is one of the few production chains that is fully localized on the
territory of the Czech Republic, and thanks to it, our country is able to produce basic engineering products such as bearings, gearboxes, turbines, internal combustion engine
parts and car chassis.
SKČR publishes the Blacksmiths magazine twice a year, and organizes regular professional conferences, seminars and trainings as part of its activities, intended for representatives and individual professions of SKČR member companies.
